Powerful Sniper Rifle

April 3rd, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in World News

Among the illegal weapons seized by NSW police there was a sniper rifle so powerful, expert said: It could disable a jet at a distance of one or two kilometers. In simple word, if a trained sniper was standing at the roof top of Sydney’s Centrepoint Tower and the target was at the distance of Sydney Opera House or Garden Island in the line of sight, the sniper could shoot take down the target.
.50 calibre rifles can be legally purchased by civilians in most US states.  A .50 calibre rifles can be purchased at about $12,500. Sporting gun clubs do posses licence for rifles that are capable of accurately firing at the distance of one or two kilometers. But, sporting rifle shooters don’t hold licence something that is of military standard.
There is more to about this rifle, which US Secret Service do really worry about. It could be used to knock off high level Government official. It can bring down the target from about one or kilometer distance which could make it difficult to figure out where the shot came from. Authorities are not sure if there are any more weapons of these kinds in the street. This haul was part of a long-running sting in which undercover officers allegedly bought illegal firearms from a targeted supplier.

Yah-goo.com --- The Ghan from Australia!

Ghan, the legendary train, named after Afghan camel drivers, who helped in building train track in inland Australia, which was first opened in August 1929 from Adelaide will be celebrating 80th year this August. Since, its day one, the fourth day of August 1929, it has traveled 25 million kilometers or in a simple English, it has traveled equivalent to about 625 times around the Earth.
From the day one of its beginning, its real intention was to build the train line from Adelaide, SA to right up to Darwin, NT bisecting the vast land of Australia and linking the North end of Australia with the South, but due to budget it was not successful for a long time. But, the vision came to pass on the 4th of February 2004, when Adelaide to Darwin rail track was finally completed and began operating.
In order to celebrate its 80th birthday and to stir its business, Great Southern Rail (GSR), Ghan’s owner, has a choice of eight free tour and accommodation packages on new bookings made before 3rd of June.
